Buffalo man gets 37 months in federal drug case

A Buffalo man convicted on drug and gun charges has been sentenced to 37 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Elizabeth Wolford.

Ricky Lee Pyzikiewicz, 29, was arrested Nov. 15, 2010, when he and Ashley Marie Gnocchini, 29, of Cheektowaga, were stopped by police in the area of Milestrip Road and McKinley Parkway in Hamburg while they were en route to meet an undercover agent for a drug sale.

Prosecutors said quantities of cocaine were found in the car. A search of Pyzikiewicz’s home on Maurice Street turned up baggies containing marijuana and cocaine, as well as a rifle and ammunition.

Pyzikiewicz was convicted of conspiracy to possess and distribute cocaine and for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Gnocchini was sentenced earlier this year to 15 months in prison. In 2006, both Pyzikiewicz and Gnocchini were arrested by the Buffalo police narcotics unit during a raid on a hydroponic marijuana-growing operation and methamphetamine lab on Lockwood Avenue in South Buffalo.
