MURRAY – A 34-year-old woman from Hilton, in Orleans County, has been arrested on charges including second-degree assault in an incident involving law enforcement personnel, according to the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office. Sara J. Harris was arrested Monday in connection with the incident early Sunday in the Town of Murray, according to the sheriff’s office.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home on Route 31 shortly after 6 a.m., where a resident said that his girlfriend had departed following an incident there, along with an eight-year-old child. Deputies said Harris was found on Route 31 with the 8-year-old and allegedly resisted the officers and used bad language when they approached her in a field, according to the sheriff’s office report.
Two sheriff’s deputies allegedly suffered injuries in the incident, the sheriff’s report daid.
She has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest, among other charges, according to the sheriff’s office. A court date in the Town of Murray has been scheduled for Wednesday on the matter.
