Niagara Falls School District honors former grad and volunteer

The Niagara Falls City School District will welcome keynote speaker Bernice Radle to the annual Parents & Partners Dinner celebration at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in Niagara Falls High School, 4455 Porter Road, The theme for the night will be “Imagine the Possibilities.”

Radle, owner of Buffalove Development, is a 2004 graduate of Niagara Falls High School.

She serves on the City of Buffalo Zoning Board of Appeals and is on the leadership committee of Buffalo’s Young Preservationists. In 2016, Radle helped to create the Rust Belt Coalition of Young Preservationists, an organization aimed to encourage young citizens to unite for historic preservation. Her Buffalove Development focuses on bringing vacant or underutilized spaces back to life in Buffalo.

This year’s recipient of the Golden Apple, the district’s highest award, is Anupama Chandan, who has volunteered her time and talents to the English as a New Language Program at G.J. Mann Elementary School, helping Indian and Pakistani students in her native Punjabi language, as well as in Hindi and Urdu.
