St. Bonaventure: Senior Thad Johnson was selected as Atlantic 10 baseball player of the week while teammate Brandon Schlimm was pitcher of the week. Johnson (Frewsburg) hit .500 (11 for 22) with a .542 on-base and .591 slugging percentage over five games. He was 4 for 5 with four RBIs and two doubles in a win over Canisius. He was 3 for 5 with a walk in an A-10 win over George Mason and had six hits in three games against the Patriots to help the Bonnies take the series. Johnson also set St. Bonaventure’s all-time career saves record with a save versus George Mason. Schlimm, a sophomore, struck out a career-high 12 in a 3-0 win over George Mason. He struck out at least one batter in every inning and had four perfect innings. Schlimm has allowed just six hits and one run in 17∑ innings pitched over his last two starts. He ranks third in Atlantic 10 with a 1.96 ERA.
SUNYAC: Buffalo State sophomore attack Alanna Herne (Tonawanda), Bengals junior defender Cassie Saint-Vil and Oswego senior midfield Esther Gabrielle (Lancaster) are first-team selections on the all-conference women’s lacrosse team. Buffalo State midfield Sarah Lorusso (Frontier) is a second-team pick and Fredonia senior attack Katie Miller (Hamburg) a third-team selection.
