Ciminelli gift helps restore UB academic building on South Campus

A $1 million gift over five years from the Louis P. Ciminelli Family Foundation will help support restoration of Hayes Hall on the South Campus of the University at Buffalo, as well as yet-to-be determined initiatives in Buffalo neighborhoods.

UB’s School of Architecture and Planning will name the building’s atrium in honor of the Ciminelli family.

Louis P. Ciminelli is chairman and CEO of LPCiminelli, a construction firm that was selected as general contractor for the $375 million UB Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences building currently being built. LPCiminelli also was construction manager for UB’s Clinical and Translational Research Center.

Hayes Hall is the longtime home of the School of Architecture and Planning. UB has scheduled a grand re-opening of the landmark building for Sept. 23-24.
