JAMESTOWN – The Chautauqua County Department of Health will offer free opioid overdose response [Narcan] training at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Chautauqua Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Council (CASAC,) 501 West Third St., suites 3 and 4, Springchorn Building in Jamestown.
The class is open to the public and will provide training on how to administer naloxone, also known as Narcan, in response to an opioid overdose. Narcan reverses the effects of sedation and respiratory depression during an opioid overdose. Narcan can be administered by trained first responders, friends and family.
Upon completion of the 90-minute training, each participant will receive a certificate of completion and a free naloxone kit. The training is open to the public.
