The School Board hosts a public hearing on the district’s $42.48 million budget, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday as part of its regular meeting in the High School cafeteria, 5201 S. Transit Road.
The budget reflects a 3.06 percent spending increase, with a tax levy of $17.37 million.
Projected taxes on a home assessed at $100,000 would translate into a $4 decrease in taxes for Cheektowaga residents in the district, while Lancaster residents face a projected $65 increase.
Four candidates are running for three board seats. Incumbents Patrick Law and John Spencer are seeking re-election. Political newcomers Todd Bush and Jill Jolley are challenging them for seats on the board. Veteran board member Nancy Fumerelle is not running again.
• The Village Board meets at 6 p.m. Monday in a work session, followed by its regular meeting at 7 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 85 Manitou St.
