Twice elected City Judge for Niagara Falls - Candidate for NYS Assembly - Elected to Niagara Falls School Board in May 2011
Please tell us about yourself.:
For over 30 years I have served the legal needs of families in Niagara Falls. During that time, I have provided over 200 volunteer hours of legal service, each year, to children and seniors. Throughout my entire career, I have been an advocate for children assigned by the courts to represent a child's interest in court proceedings. My service on the Niagara Falls School Board has given me the opportunity to promote improved learning facilities, advance new programs, such as our Pre-K to 12 STEM program, all while maintaining a modest school budget without tax increases.
Please describe the top issues facing your school district and how you would address them as a school board member.:
Finances- Continue to advocate for full funding of school districts throughout New York State and especially Niagara Falls Program Options- Expand on our efforts to offer career, as well as college, training Mentoring- Tap into the State funding for "My Brother's Keeper" program to improve our support for students.
Do you think public education in New York is headed in the right direction? Yes
Please explain why, in 100 words or less:
While I can't speak to all of New York State, I can say that the Niagara Falls Public Schools are in the forefront of many educational programs in our area. Our District is providing exciting new opportunities for students, our teachers and staff are innovative, and the Board and administration are dedicated to improvement.
