Sharon A. Potter of Hamburg, a retired senior clerk typist in the Buildings and Grounds Department for the Town of Hamburg, died Wednesday in Mercy Hospital, Buffalo. She was 66.
Born in Buffalo, she was a graduate of West Seneca Senior High School. Mrs. Potter began her career at the Erie County Health Department before moving on to Erie Community College as an account clerk and, eventually, bookstore manager. She then was hired by the Town of Hamburg, where she also served as Civil Service Employee Association union representative, and retired 11 years ago.
After her retirement, she spent the winter months in Fort. Myers Beach, Fla., with her husband of 46 years, Frank V. She enjoyed planning activities and being part of various committees with her Hibiscus condo friends. She also enjoyed playing euchre, bingo, dominoes and beach bocce ball.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Michelle Galloway and Lisa; a sister, Kathy Carlini; and a brother, Jerry Kostrzycki Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Monday in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 4263 St. Francis Drive, Athol Springs.
