JAMESTOWN – A Jamestown man faces a criminally negligent homicide charge in connection with a one-vehicle crash in December that killed a passenger.
John E. Hillman, 37, was arrested late Thursday afternoon, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office said.
Chalise M. Hebner, 39, of Pittsfield, Pa., died at the scene of a crash on Ivory Road in the Town of Carroll. The crash happened just before 3 a.m. Dec. 6.
Hillman was charged after the crash with drunken driving. A Chautauqua County grand jury subsequently indicted him on the criminally negligent homicide charge.
Hebner was a passenger in the front seat of a 2002 Chevrolet station wagon when she was ejected from the vehicle, which failed to negotiate a curve on the rural road and rolled over, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Hillman and two other passengers were taken to WCA Hospital in Jamestown after the crash.
