The Erie Community College baseball program would like to invite all baseball alumni, especially those who either played with or for Tilo Mendiola (1992-93) and Joe Mamott (1992). The pair will have their baseball jerseys retired Sunday with a ceremony in conjunction with a home game at 1 p.m. vs. Tompkins-Cortland Community College at ECC’s North Campus. GOLF: National Recovery Solutions LLC will host its 9th Charity Classic at Willowbrook Golf Course, on September 4, with a shotgun start at 1:15 p.m. which will benefit Make-A-Wish Western New York and Mikey’s Way Foundation. Cost is $100 per person and includes golf with cart, goodie bag, lunch and dinner. The event is a four-man scramble and registration deadline is September 1. HOCKEY: The Buffalo Hornets of the National College Prospects Hockey League is organizing a U18 Tournament Showcase Team to participate in 5 AAU Sanctioned Showcase Tournaments that will be a part of the NCPHL. This is an opportunity for boys in the U18 group who either do not have a high school team or looking to supplement their schedule with additional games. The showcase dates are: October 7-10 at Holiday Twin Rinks (hosted by Buffalo Hornets); November 4-6 at Cornerstone Arena in Lockport (hosted by Niagara Red Cats); December 2-4 in Burlington (hosted by Blythe Academy); January 13-15 in Erie (hosted by Lake Erie Warriors); January 27-29 in Rochester at Bill Grey (hosted by Rochester Rebels); The Buffalo and Rochester Showcases are also being held concurrently with an NCPHL Junior Showcase.
