Tonawanda police charge pair in damage to city-owned building

City of Tonawanda police have charged two people with breaking into and damaging a city-owned building on the Erie Canal.

Tyler J. Carson, 18, and Tylyne N. Lapaglia, 23, face charges for breaking into the harbor master’s building at Gateway Harbor Park twice in early April, police said.

They are accused of breaking doors and entering the building, causing more than $900 in damage, according to police.

Carson was charged with third-degree criminal mischief and third-degree criminal trespass. Lapaglia was charged with third-degree criminal trespass.

The pair, who both reside on Robert Drive in North Tonawanda, are due in court May 10.
