Husband found guilty in shooting

A husband who shot another man at a house party was found guilty of felony assault in a trial before an Erie County judge.

Isaiah Cormack, 29, of Buffalo was accused of shooting Brendon Crawford, 26, over an alleged affair with his wife. Judge Thomas P. Ftraqnczyk found him guilty of assault in the first degree.

Cormack had confronted Crawford on Nov. 15 at a party on Orange Street before he fired one shot. The bullet tore through Crawford’s abdomen, exited and went through his elbow before lodging in the wall. The victim was hospitalized for a month.

Cormack was arrested a week after the shooting, when a police pursuit ended with Cormack driving into a pond in Cheektowaga.

Sentencing is set for June 6.
