Announcement coming on upcoming town hall meeting regarding opioid crisis

Erie County officials on Thursday afternoon will announce an upcoming town hall meeting on the opioid crisis.

Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz, county Health Commissioner Dr. Gale Burstein and other officials from the county and the Town of Tonawanda have scheduled a news conference for 3:30 p.m. to announce the upcoming event.

The news conference will be held in the Rath County Office Building on Franklin Street.

“The meeting will bring together members of the medical and law enforcement communities, health and human services advocates and agencies and elected officials for information and education on confronting this problem in our community,” Poloncarz’s office said in a news release.
