Two hospitalized in three-vehicle Lockport crash where car catches fire

LOCKPORT – Two people were taken to the hospital after a three-vehicle crash early Tuesday night at the intersection of Dysinger and Wynkoop roads.

A vehicle traveling east on Dysinger rear-ended another vehicle waiting to turn left onto Wynkoop shortly after 6 p.m., according to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office. The car waiting to turn was pushed into the westbound traffic and was hit by a vehicle heading west and then caught fire.

One driver suffered a leg injury and another complained of head pain. Both were taken to Erie County Medical Center.

The third driver refused treatment.

The investigation is ongoing, the sheriff’s office said.
