Koike Aronson prepares for CEO change

Koike Aronson, an Arcade manufacturer, is preparing for a leadership change.

Gerald Leary in March 2017 will retire as CEO, a position he has held since 2002. Succeeding him will be James McAuliffe Jr., who was just appointed president and chief operations officer.

Leary gave up the president’s duties to McAuliffe, who most recently was chief financial officer at Rigidized Metals Corp. in Buffalo.

Koike Aronson makes welding positioners and cutting machines. The company noted that Leary was named head of the business at a time when it was near bankruptcy, but it has since doubled in size, expanded three times, and invested more than $25 million in new facilities and equipment.

Japan-based Koike Sanso has owned the Wyoming County operation since 1985.
