Black Lips to unleash live antics at Nietzsche's

In a brief moment of subtlety, indie-rock troublemakers Black Lips quietly announced a summer tour that will include a stop at Nietzsche's (248 Allen St.) at 8 p.m. July 16.

Since forming in Atlanta in 1999, the four piece has released a slew of Southern-flavored garage-punk records while making of name for itself through the years for rather wild live gigs. Those shows, which have taken the band all over the world including a VICE Records documented tour through the Middle East in 2012 and most recently South Africa late last year, have been known to include a laundry list of on-stage props, from live animals to a variety of bodily fluids, many of the latter from the band members themselves.

Tickets are currently available for $15 (Ticketmaster).
