Coming up

In boys lacrosse, powerful Hamburg has two more games coming up this week. The Bulldogs play at Lake Shore on Wednesday and host Williamsville South on Friday. Hamburg is led by Evan Hollfelder, who is the only returning area All-America player this year. The midfielder is one of three returning All-Western New York players from 2015, and was missed in article published earlier in the week.

In baseball, a game between Canisius and St. Joe’s usually captures the attention of those interested in Monsignor Martin Association play. Such a matchup takes place at 4:15 p.m. on Monday at Delaware Park. The Crusaders are 2-0 in league play so far while the Marauders are 3-1. St. Francis is also in the mix with a 4-1 league record.

Softball fans will find their way to Walden Ponds for the 19th annual Wildcat Softball Tournament, hosted by Depew, on Saturday and Sunday. The Wildcats will open the event with a game against Medina. Williamsville East, last year’s Class A champion, will be participating as well.

Moving on

Two athletes from Lancaster High School will sign letters of intent with colleges on Monday afternoon. Colin Blair is off to South Florida, where he will participate on the track and field team. Alfredo Gallo agreed to attend Lake Erie College for soccer.

Earlier, Steve Neumaier of the Legends signed to go to Cornell.

Correction

The winner of the girls 1,500-meter race of the Niagara Falls Invitational on Saturday was incorrectly reported in High School Extra. Gabrielle Orie was the first person over the finish line.
