Soaring space-rock unit the Besnard Lakes will make a Queen City return appearance at 8 p.m. April 28 in the Tralf Music Hall (622 Main St.)
After grabbing listeners with the stunning, Beach Boys in space-esque single "Disaster" in 2007, the Montreal group, led by husband-wife combo Jace Lasek and Olga Goreas, has been quietly building one of indie rock's most consistent catalogs for nearly 15 years, from the band's roaring breakthrough album "The Besnard Lakes Are the Dark Horse" on Jagjaguwar to 2016's orchestral "A Coliseum Complex Museum." Fans of fellow Canadian-bred acts like the Dears, Broken Social Scene and Arcade Fire would be wise to dive into the act's grand melodies and sweeping hooks.
Tickets are $12 (box office, Ticketmaster). Experimental Motor City group Tune to Crime will provide support.
