A training seminar in “Preservation Fundamentals” will be offered by the Town of Clarence Historic Preservation Commission and the state Department of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Friday and Saturday in the Town Park Clubhouse, 10405 Main St.
The sessions, led by representatives from BERO Architecture PLLC of Rochester, include “Preservation Theory and Planning” at 6 p.m. Friday, “Preservation Legal Issues” at 8:30 a.m. Saturday and “Architectural Issues” at 11 a.m. Refreshments will be served at 5:30 p.m. Friday. A continental breakfast will be served at 8 a.m. Saturday and a box lunch will be served between Saturday sessions.

• The Town Board meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Town Hall, One Town Place off Goodrich Road, following a work session at 6 p.m.
• More than 150 baskets will be offered in basket raffle from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Clarence Senior Center, 4600 Thompson Road. Winners need not be present at the drawing. A “friends and family” presale will be held 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Proceeds will benefit Meals on Wheels of Clarence/Newstead and Rural Transit Service.
