Pendleton Action Team sets pipeline issues workshop

PENDLETON – The Pendleton Action Team, the citizen group opposing the construction of a National Fuel gas pipeline and compressor station in the town, is hosting a public workshop on pipeline-related issues at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Town Hall, 6570 Campbell Blvd.

The presentation, based on experience in Pennsylvania, will discuss organizing strategies including regulatory issues, air monitoring, landowner outreach, building a campaign, and community organizing.

National Fuel has announced a one-year delay in bringing its plan online, although it hopes to begin above-ground work on the pipeline and associated facilities by the end of this year. The town has hired environmental attorney Gary A. Abraham to fight the project.
