SANBORN – Niagara County Community College’s animation program will present internationally known animator and director Patrick Smith as its keynote speaker at the NCCC Video Festival on May 7.

The Video Festival is free and open to the public and will take place on NCCC’s main campus from noon to 4 p.m. The awards ceremony begins at 3:30 p.m.

Smith is best known for hand-drawn interpretations of people in animated shorts including “Delivery and Handshake.” His films have appeared on MTV, PBS, FX, ESPN, ABC and Nickelodeon. Smith made his directorial debut for the MTV animated series “Daria.”

Currently, Smith and his studio are in production for the third season of the PBS series, “Blank on Blank,” which illustrates rare audio interviews by famous artists, actors and musicians.
