Falls motel owner accused of leaving tenant high and dry

NIAGARA FALLS – The owner of a Niagara Falls Boulevard motel was arrested Friday after repeated complaints that he had shut off water service to a rented room, police said.

Officers twice went to the Niagara Rainbow Motel to investigate similar complaints from a Niagara Falls man who had rented a room at the motel. On the second visit, officers tried to accompany the owner into the basement of the business while he restored water service to the affected room, but he slammed a door leading to the basement and refused to allow officers access, according to reports.

Nasser J. Alkhatib, 50, was charged with obstructing governmental administration and a violation of New York State Real Property Law.
