Pit bull that bit off boy’s finger is in custody, according to reports

The pit bull terrier that bit off part of a 9-year-old boy’s finger in Cheektowaga Town Park on Wednesday night is reportedly in police custody.

The dog was brought to police by the owner, Cheektowaga police told WIVB-TV Channel 4, and will be quarantined until it can be determined if it has rabies.

Meech Mills was holding onto the fence at the park basketball courts when the tan dog pulled its owner forward, lunged at him and bit off part of the finger.

Doctors at Women & Children’s Hospital in Buffalo were unable to reattach the middle finger on his right hand, which was severed at the knuckle, according to the boy’s mother, Amy Prieur.

The boy had been facing a series of rabies shots, said the mother, who noted her son was “pretty sad about his finger.”
