Meyer announces candidacy for 146th Assembly seat

Democrat Steven G. Meyer announced Thursday he will run for the 146th Assembly District, a seat currently held by Republican Raymond W. Walter.

Meyer, who is executive director of the Erie County Democratic Committee, ran against Walter in 2014.

Meyer, 24, owns Homegrown Community Solutions in Amherst, a company that helps other small businesses and nonprofits get their feet off the ground, his campaign.

Meyer previously worked in the offices of former Reps. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Arizona, and Michael Arcuri, D-N.Y.

The Assembly district covers Williamsville, Amherst and Pendleton.
