Frank Ciminelli named president of LPCiminelli

Frank L. Ciminelli II has been named president of LPCiminelli, the Buffalo-based contractor that is overseeing construction of the SolarCity factory in South Buffalo and the University at Buffalo’s new School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in downtown Buffalo.

Ciminelli, the grandson of company founder Frank L. Ciminelli, had been the contractor’s executive vice president. His father, Louis Ciminelli, is the firm’s chairman and CEO.

Frank Ciminelli will oversee the day-to-day operations of the company’s Buffalo office, while Louis Ciminelli will focus more on its activities in the New York City, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Frank Ciminelli, 42, has worked for LPCiminelli since 2001. Before that, he worked for Clark Construction Group in Bethesda, Md., and Hunt Construction in Cincinnati. He has a bachelor’s degree from Marietta College and a master’s degree with a concentration in construction management from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
