Robert William Pierce of Buffalo, the retired president of a local tiling company, died April 12 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. He was 91.
Mr. Pierce was a graduate of Amherst High School and served in the Army during World War II.
He was president of DeSpirit Mosaic and Tile and Armento Inc., which makes columbariums and bronze works, for a number of years.
Mr. Pierce also was an accomplished watercolor artist.
His paintings were displayed at the former Buffalo Savings Bank.
He also repaired stained glass at several area churches and made stained-glass lamps as a hobby.
His wife of 64 years, the former Marilyn Day, died in 2015.
Survivors include two daughters, Jill Emblidge and Kelly; a son Todd; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private.
