Parents face endangerment charges over Newfane meth lab

NEWFANE – Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies on Tuesday charged a couple with endangering the welfare of a child after authorities found an active methamphetamine lab in their Ridge Road home.

Authorities from the sheriff’s office and State Police were called to the residence at 6287 Ridge Road, lot 7, after a person reported two children came to her home saying they couldn’t wake their parents.

When law enforcement arrived, they found Joshua B. Hoefer, 33, and Brittany M. Blenker, 26, sleeping in a rear bedroom.

After discovering materials used to make methamphetamine, they evacuated the home, including an infant.

Additional charges are pending against Hoefer and Blenker as the investigation continues, the sheriff’s office said.

The pair was arraigned in Newfane Town Court where bail was set at $5,000. They are scheduled to be back in court on Tuesday.
