Man who robbed Dunkirk bank gets 2½ years in prison

MAYVILLE – A Fredonia man who pleaded guilty to the September robbery of a Dunkirk bank was sentenced in Chautauqua County Court Monday to 2½ years in state prison.

Judge Paul Wojtaszek also ordered Tyler Moon, 30, to five years of post-release supervision on for his conviction of third-degree robbery.

Moon was arrested shortly after he handed a note to a teller in a Cattaraugus County Bank branch and escaped with about $1,000 in cash. The teller triggered an alarm and police picked him up within an hour.
