The fifth season of the Live at Larkin concert series opens June 1 with an expanded lineup featuring additional theme nights, two album release concerts and nearly 40 musical acts.
The 14-week free series takes place from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Larkinville. Each performance features at least two area musical acts playing individual sets and then joining for an encore to cap off the evening.
Food trucks will be on hand and beverages will be sold as well.
Here’s the schedule:
June 1: The series opens with a special six-band bill featuring John and Mary & the Valkyries, Fredtown Stompers, Freightrain, Verve Dance Studio, Carol McLaughlin & Magnitude and the French Quarter Hounds.
June 8: Aqueous and Jettison.
June 15: Outer Circle Orchestra, Tiger Chung Lee
June 22: “East Side Night” with the Unity Band, Will Holton, 4 B-Lo, and the Buffalo Concertina All Stars.
June 29: “Buffalo 66: Cash & Stones Revisited” honors two area events from 1966 – Stoneflower will perform the set from the Rolling Stones’ Aud performance; A Band Named Sue with cast members from “Ring of Fire” will pay tribute to Johnny Cash’s six-night run at Melody Fair.
July 6: “Latin at Larkin” with music by La Krema and Sol Y Sombra, plus merengue, bachata and salsa dance lessons from Salsa Sarah’s.
July 13: Album release for Tom Stahl and the Dangerfields, plus Savannah & the Kings.
July 20: Miller & the Other Sinners, Preach Freedom & Connect.
July 27: The Reign of Kindo, The Tins
Aug. 3: “South Buffalo Night” with Congressman Brian Higgins & the Exchange Street Band, the Stone Bridge Band and Keith Shuskie featuring John Higgins.
Aug. 10: Dive House Union, Jony James Band.
Aug. 17: Album release for the Rear View Ramblers, plus Uncle Ben’s Remedy.
Aug. 24: “Sinatra’s Second Century” with Nelson Starr & the Franciscans and the Joey Giambra Jazz Orchestra.
Aug. 31: The Buffalovebirds, and the debut of The New Good Neighbors.
