Worker accused of adding fake tips to customers’ credit cards

Buffalo detectives have arrested a 19-year-old juice-bar employee accused of stealing roughly $100 by adding bogus tips onto customers’ credit cards without their knowledge, Central District police reported Monday.

Detectives charged Jamar J. Brooks, of Allen Street, with felony scheme to defraud and petit larceny in connection with the tips added to the credit cards of about 30 customers at Crush Juicery, 617 Main St. Those thefts occurred on April 8, 11 and 12, police said.

Authorities are attempting to identify the customers victimized in the scheme.
