NIAGARA FALLS — A 22nd Street man said he was beat up by two people who rushed into his house armed with guns Sunday night.
The 49-year-old man said the two intruders knocked asking, “Is she here?” and then rushed in when he opened the door around 11 p.m. at his house in the 500 block of 22nd Street.
The victim said he first opened the door because he thought it was a home health aide returning to help his mother who is confined to her bed. He told police he did not know anyone or any reason that someone would target him.
He said both suspects were masked and displayed handguns. He said the smaller man could have been a woman and had threatened to shoot him. The other larger man struck him in the back of the head, causing a cut on his head and pain. The victim was able to call out to a neighbor for help and the two fled.
The victim was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center to be treated for his injuries.
