Fire damages several sheds at Pendleton cemetery

PENDLETON — Three storage sheds were damaged by fire Monday afternoon at the Acacia Park Cemetery, 4215 Tonawanda Creek Road. Law enforcement and firefighters responded at 2:55 p.m. and found three storage sheds, all of them close to one another, on fire.

The Wendelville Volunteer Fire Department with assistance from the North Amherst Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene to extinguish the fire.

Two sheds and their contents were destroyed and were called a total loss. A third shed sustained damage to the roof.

There was no immediate estimate of the amount of the loss. The cause of the fire remained under investigation, according to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Department.
