The annual HA HA Conference – Healthy Alternatives through the Healing Arts – will take place this month at the Buffalo Psychiatric Center campus.
The theme will be “Proactive Wellness ... Now!” The one-day conference will provide hands-on information on holistic practices to help prevent health problems, whether physical, mental or spiritual, and promote recovery from mental illness. A variety of workshops will be offered along with a keynote address by psychologist William Reynolds, coordinator of Rehabilitation and Recovery Services at the Psychiatric Center. His topic will be: “The ‘Qi’ to Recovery.”
Workshop topics will include yoga, laughter, meditation, drumming, reiki, aroma therapy, fitness, nutrition, art, music and dance.
The 16th annual conference will run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 29 in the Butler Rehabilitation Center. The $12 fee for peers and $20 for nonpeers includes breakfast and lunch. Partial scholarships are available for applications received by Thursday.
