Live animal show coming to Museum of Science

Jeff Musial’s Nickel City Reptiles & Exotics Traveling Zoo will visit the Buffalo Museum of Science from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday as part of Wild n’ Weird, a program on unique creatures from around the world.

Highlight will be the Jeff Musial Live Animal Show at noon and 2 p.m. in the M&T Bank National Geographic Cinema. Admission to the Live Animal Show is $5, or $4 for museum members. All other activities, including the Traveling Zoo, are included in museum admission.

There also will be Vertebrate Zoology Tours in the Collections Area, where visitors can see BMS Gets Weird, a display of the museum’s oddest items. The Western New York Herpetological Society will exhibit a variety of reptiles and amphibians. Local collector Bill Schryver will show his personal collection of insects and discuss their peculiarities.

In addition, there will be a “Wild n’ Weird Animal Trivia” test, an interactive session to show how birds collect food with their beaks, an information site for the SPCA Serving Erie County, face-painting and photos with the museum’s Tony the Tiger.
