It’s encouraging to read about Hunter’s success
The wonderful article in Sunday’s News about Buffalo native Gail Hunter’s successful career in the upper echelons of professional sports administration was certainly timely.
While some of the worst aspects of human behavior, such as bigotry and misogyny, are witnessed daily in this country’s political discourse, it’s gratifying to read about an African-American woman thriving in what was once an all-male (and all-white) bastion. That she’s married to another woman and raising two children makes her story all the more compelling.
Although ignorance, hate and intolerance remain a part of our culture, it’s heartening to know how far we have come as a country.
