Two drunken drivers avoid prison at sentencings

LOCKPORT – Two drunken drivers were placed on probation by State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. in separate cases Friday.

Martin P. Skuce Jr., 38, of Miller Road, Lewiston, drew five years’ probation, 210 hours of community service and fines and fees totaling $1,605. Skuce pleaded guilty to felony driving while intoxicated after being arrested April 22 in the parking lot of Gleason’s Gymnastics on Niagara Falls Boulevard in Wheatfield. Skuce said he dropped his daughter off for work, went to get some drinks, and was arrested after backing into another vehicle in the parking lot while picking his daughter up.

“It must have been crazy embarrassing,” Kloch said.

In the other case, Carole R. Rossi, 60, of 95th Street, Niagara Falls, was placed on three years’ probation. She pleaded guilty to misdemeanor DWI after a Feb. 15, 2015, arrest on Military Road in the Falls.
