North Tonawanda murder suspect to be returned from Pennsylvania

LOCKPORT – Dominick Cruz, who was arrested April 1 in Lancaster, Pa., on a warrant accusing him of murder and attempted murder in North Tonawanda, is to be returned to Niagara County Tuesday.

That was the word Friday from Deputy District Attorney Doreen M. Hoffmann, who said Cruz, 39, of Buffalo, was indicted in February in connection with the Jan. 10 slaying of Mark D. Sternin Jr., 25, of the City of Tonawanda, and the wounding of Tyler P. Sadauskas, 24, of Middleport. The shootings occurred about 1:30 a.m. in a parking lot at Manhattan and Tremont streets in North Tonawanda. Three men were seen speeding away from the scene in a car.

Cruz got away the next day, when detectives approached his workplace at Speed Global Services on Kenmore Avenue in the Town of Tonawanda.
