Seaman decides against Niagara DA race

LOCKPORT – Brian D. Seaman, a former Niagara County assistant district attorney, said Thursday he will not run for district attorney.

Seaman, a Youngstown Republican now in private law practice, had been considering entering the race, in which the only announced candidate is another former prosecutor, North Tonawanda Democrat Caroline A. Wojtaszek.

Seaman said he was “encouraged” by community response to the possibility he might run. “However, after careful consideration I have determined that due to my other professional and personal commitments, this is not the right time for me to run for office. This decision has been made easier by the emergence of Caroline Wojtaszek as a candidate. I worked with Caroline in the DA’s Office and found her to be an outstanding prosecutor.”
