Canisius women edge Siena in lacrosse

Freshman Tessa Chad scored with 39 seconds left in overtime to give Canisius a 12-11 women’s lacrosse victory over Siena in Loudonville, the 11th consecutive win for the Griffs over their Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference rivals.

Sophomore Erica Evans scored five goals and had three assists, including helping on Chad’s game-winner for Canisius (7-4, 4-0 MAAC). Evans now has 33 goals and 43 points for the season. She scored the tying goal with 2:17 left in regulation.

Monmouth is also undefeated in the MAAC and will face Canisius at noon on Saturday at the Demske Sports Complex.
