Meghan Trapper of Lancaster, a fifth-grader at Nativity of Mary in Williamsville, took first place among 10-year-old girls statewide in the annual Knights of Columbus Free Throw Competition that began in February and concluded Sunday. Trapper won school, local and district titles to advance to the states at West Point, where she made 21 of 25 free throws to capture her division championship. The competition continues at the international level but competitors must make all 25 free throws at states to qualify.
