Four fun events your kids will love

The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra presents “Peter and the Wolf” at 2:30 p.m. April 17 in Kleinhans Music Hall (3 Symphony Circle). This is a comical story about Little Red Riding Hood that is great for kids of all ages. Tickets range from $9 for kids to $18.50 for adults. Tickets and info here.

Why you should check out this event: THE BPO is awesome and Kleinhans is stunning. It’s also a great way to introduce your little ones to musical instruments.

Arrive at 1:30 p.m. and visit the Instrument Zoo, where your kids can check them out first hand – and ask questions. There will be other activities, including stories and games. We’ve been to kids performances in the past and have loved them all.

"Peter Pan" at 2 p.m. April 17 in Shea's Performing Arts Center (646 Main St.). This event is free, but you still need a ticket to guarantee entry. More info here.

Why you should check out this event: Obviously, because it is free. Also, Shea's is so beautiful and a great place to see a film. Not to mention, the story of Peter Pan is fun for every age. There’s magic, cute kids and everyone’s favorite fairy, Tinker Bell.

Kidabaloo, from 5 to 8 p.m. April 15 and two sessions, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 5 p.m., April 16 in the Fairgrounds Event Center (5820 South Park Ave., Hamburg). Admission is $9 for individual tickets or $28 for family-four packs, while children under 2 get in free. This event does sell out, so get your tickets early. Why you should check out this event: Kidabaloo is a day filled with fun and adventure for the entire family. General admission tickets include three hours of interactive activities for kids.

There will be more than 30 characters – like princesses, cartoon characters and superheroes. Show me a kid that doesn’t love princesses or superheroes.

The event center will also present live shows, face painting, games, crafts, bounce houses and more. Disney Channel’s Lauren Taylor from “Best Friends Whenever” and Trinitee Stokes from “KC Undercover” will be hanging out and answering questions.

VIP tickets are available – which include early entry and meet-and-greet with one of the stars – for $35.

Get Physical from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 16 in Explore and More (300 Gleed Ave., East Aurora). Stop by the museum for an opportunity for physical activity in the gym for kids of all ages and adults together. They’ll have a variety of play equipment. Admission is $7 and includes all activities. Why you should check out this event: If you haven’t been to Explore and More, it is a very cute little place. It has special events like this every now and again. Plus, getting parents and kids moving and grooving together is always fun.
