The slow and steady progress of this year’s Catholic Charities appeal reached 82 percent of its $11 million goal, reported the charity’s diocesan director.
“We are benefitting from the return of snowbirds who represent some of our most generous donors, many of whom stayed down south a little longer this year due to the wintry weather in late March and early April,” said Sister Mary McCurrick. “I have confidence our community will rise to the occasion, as it has done in years past to help us reach our goal.”
The appeal is now at $9,042,439, representing 82 percent of this year’s goal. The amount is up more than $1 million since the last report was given on March 22.
The appeal ends June 30.
