Former Toronto Blue Jays great and Baseball Hall of Famer Roberto Alomar will throw out the ceremonial first pitch Thursday when the Buffalo Bisons play their home opener against the Rochester Red Wings at Coca-Cola Field.
Alomar was selected to 12 all-star teams and captured 10 Gold Glove awards at second base during 17 big-league seasons. He finished his career with 2,724 hits and his “12” is the only uniform number that has been retired by the Blue Jays.
Gates open at 1 p.m. for the home opener. Festivities begin at 1:30 with the first pitch schedule for 2:05. Tickets are available on Bisons.com.
