A man is beaten and forced to hand over money from ATM

NIAGARA FALLS – Niagara Falls police communicated with a Spanish speaking man through an interpreter who reported being robbed at knife point, beaten and forced to take money out of his bank account.

The 43-year-old San Salvador man told police that three men in a vehicle approached him as he walked along the 300 block of Third Street on Thursday afternoon.

The victim said one man punched him in the right side of his face and the other two grabbed him and pulled him into the vehicle. He told police that one of the men held a knife to his throat.

He said the men stopped twice, forcing him to withdraw $700 from an ATM on the first stop and then $600 on the second stop. He said he was then pushed out of the vehicle near his hotel.

Police said the victim did not appear injured and did not have the numbers to his bank cards.
