Leah A. Colon and Jerry O. Rivas were married at 6 p.m. on Sept. 4, 2015, in Kloc’s Grove, West Seneca, where guests gathered for a reception. Chaplain William Morris of Great Lakes Chaplain Services in East Amherst, heard the couple’s vows. The bride’s parents are Gerard and Mary Beth Colon of Buffalo. The bridegroom’s parents are Jerry and Dolores Rivas of Buffalo. The bride, a graduate of Hutchinson Central Technical High School, earned an associate degree in nursing from Trocaire College and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Walden University. The bride is a registered nurse at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. The groom, a graduate of Hutchinson Central Technical High School, earned an associate degree in business from Erie Community College. He is an officer for U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and a U.S. Army veteran. After a trip to Italy, the couple will make their home in Kenmore.
