Business People for the week of April 10

Baker Victory Services named Laurel B. Parzych chief financial officer. Parzych served as interim CFO of the agency through ProNexus LLC, a management consulting firm. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Christopher Newport University in Virginia and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.

M&T Bank promoted William M. Shickluna to senior vice president. Shickluna, with the bank for 25 years, received a bachelor’s degree from Canisius College. Also, the bank promoted Brian M. Goldwater to group vice president. Goldwater, with the bank for 14 years, received a bachelor’s degree from the University at Buffalo.

Goodwill Industries of Western New York named DeWayne Cuffie vice president of donated goods and retail sales. Cuffie has an MBA from Ashford University. Also, the agency named Joseph Cochran director of retail operations, and promoted Tammera Szarletta to director of retail sales. Cochran holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida. Szarletta most recently was district manager in Goodwill of WNY’s Donated Goods and Retail Sales division. 

Rich Products named Seema Malyavantham to manager, corporate communications. Malyavantham graduated from the University at Buffalo.

Kavinoky Cook named David G. Brock senior counsel. Brock, previously a partner in Jaeckle Fleischmann & Mugel, earned his bachelor’s degree from Union College and JD from the University at Buffalo School of Law.

Wegmans promoted Becky Sonricker to store manager of its Sheridan Drive, Williamsville location. With Wegmans since 2007, Sonricker is a graduate of University at Buffalo.

Excelsior Orthopaedics welcomed Dr. Ryan Wilkins, an orthopedic surgeon, to its Amherst and Niagara Falls offices. Wilkins completed advanced fellowship training in sports medicine at the University at Buffalo and graduated from UB School of Medicine. He completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at UB.

McGuire Development Company named Heather Roberts property manager. Roberts previously worked for University at Buffalo Neurosurgery and Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo. She graduated from Hilbert College with a bachelor’s degree and earned an associate degree from Genesee Community College.

Legal Services for the Elderly, Disabled or Disadvantaged of Western New York named Sarah Balogh a staff attorney in its Kincare Legal Services Program. Balogh graduated from the University at Buffalo School of Law, received her MSW from UB School of Social Work, and a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Buffalo State.

Friedman & Ranzenhofer named Samuel A. Alba an associate attorney. Alba is a Buffalo State graduate and earned his JD at University at Buffalo School of Law.

JCC of Greater Buffalo named Stephanie Katzman early childhood director at the Benderson Family Building in Getzville. Katzman graduated from Boston University with a master’s degree. Also, the agency named Betsy Abramson director of Camp Centerland in Getzville. Abramson earned a master’s degree from SUNY Buffalo State and bachelor’s degree from Oneonta College.

Foit-Albert Associates, Architecture, Engineering, and Surveying named Benjamin J. Bauer an architectural technician IV. Bauer earned a bachelor’s degree from Alfred State College.

19 IDEAS named Bridget Schaefer public relations and communications associate and Nina Byrd marketing project manager. Schaefer, most recently with WIVB-TV, is a Canisius College graduate. Byrd is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology. She previously worked at the EMMA Agency.
