Violent Femmes added to Kerfuffle

Alternative Buffalo 107.7 FM promised a surprise guest would join its popular Kerfuffle summer concert and the radio station lived up to its word with the announcement of the addition of the Violent Femmes.

The punk-rock icon joins a bill set for July 23 at Canalside featuring AWOLNATION, Bloc Party, Coleman Hell, Death From Above 1979, Madisen Ward and The Mama Bear, The Moth & The Flame and The Strumbellas.

Only general admission tickets - at $35 each - remain and are available through the radio station via alternativebuffalo.com.

The Violent Femmes recently released its first full-length effort in more than 15 years, "We Can Do Anything," and promise more songs in the future. “There certainly are songs,” said founding member Gordon Gano in a release.

“And there will be more songs written. It’s just a matter of what we want to do. We were somehow able to do this, which I’m very glad about, but we had many many years of not being able to do it, so we’ll see…”

This is the third installment of the day-long summer concert. It drew a packed crowd of 12,000 people to last summer's event.
