Madelyn M. Mullins, a registered nurse and real estate broker, died Tuesday in her Orchard Park home after a struggle with cancer. She was 75.
Born in Buffalo, the former Madelyn Mahoney grew up in South Buffalo and attended Holy Family School. She was a 1958 graduate of Mount Mercy Academy and received her nursing degree from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1961. She later earned a bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies from Hilbert College and a master’s degree from Christ the King Seminary.
Mrs. Mullins worked as a nurse in Mercy Hospital, Erie County Medical Center and Roswell Park Cancer Institute until the mid-1980s and did private duty nursing. She then became a licensed real estate broker and was associated with several real estate companies, most recently Realty USA in Orchard Park.
Mrs. Mullins was secretary to the Orchard Park Democratic Committee and a member of the Orchard Park Women’s Club. She was active in St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church and served on the Grief and Share Committee.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Charles F.; four daughters, Mary E., Christine C. Baba, Kathleen M. Riggi and Rebecca A. McNamara; two sons, John M. and Timothy J.; two sisters, Mary Ann McClellan and Carol Schultz; a brother, James Mahoney; and 12 grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Bernadette’s Church, 5930 S. Abbott Road, Orchard Park.
