Lockport Public Library sets budget vote

LOCKPORT – The Lockport Public Library will hold a referendum on its 2016-17 budget from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the library’s community meeting room, 23 East Ave.

The $1.72 million budget shows a spending increase of 4.5 percent, or $73,983. The property tax levy of $1.44 million is up 0.89 percent, or $12,681, which is right at the tax cap for the Lockport City School District, which collects the tax on the school tax bills in September.

The referendum is open to all registered voters who live in the school district.
